According to Monroe Aerospace, commercial aeroplanes undergo a basic inspection every two days on average.\u00a0 Imagine getting on a plane and hearing an announcement like this: \u201cLadies and Gentlemen, ______ Airline is saving money this year.\u00a0 Our engines are now inspected annually instead of every other day as we did in the past.\u00a0 Would anyone stay on the plane?\u00a0 I wouldn\u2019t!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>2) The cars we drive. Each time we start our cars, they test a wide range of systems to make sure the car is safe and ready to drive.\u00a0 Among others, the car tests:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Engine management system<\/li>\n<li>Fuel system<\/li>\n<li>Ignition system<\/li>\n<li>Cooling system<\/li>\n<li>Emission control system<\/li>\n<li>Air conditioning system<\/li>\n<li>Airbag system<\/li>\n<li>Anti-lock braking system (ABS)<\/li>\n<li>Stability control system<\/li>\n<li>Light and signalling system<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>3) On a construction site, safety requires frequent testing:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li>Scaffolding<\/li>\n<li>Fall protection equipment<\/li>\n<li>Electrical tools and equipment<\/li>\n<li>Personal protective equipment (PPE)<\/li>\n<li>Heavy machinery and vehicles<\/li>\n<li>Ladders and stairs<\/li>\n<li>Excavation and trenching equipment<\/li>\n<li>Fire prevention and suppression systems<\/li>\n<li>Emergency evacuation procedures<\/li>\n<li>Hazardous material storage and handling\u00a0protocols<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>4) Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) save lives.\u00a0 They need to be tested monthly and visually inspected often.
