The Sound Approach to Resilience: Turning Risk into Confidence with Cowbell Resiliency Services (CRS) and AI

With Cybersecurity Awareness Month kicking off next month, businesses of all sizes face a familiar challenge: digital risks evolve faster than traditional security checkups can track.

Digital risks are real, but they are manageable with sound protection and proactive guidance. Cybersecurity isn’t just a policy you file away until a claim happens, but an ongoing process of building operational strength. That is why Cowbell Resiliency Services (CRS) works – showing businesses where their risks lie and giving them practical tools to stay ahead.

The Proven Impact of Cowbell Resiliency Services (CRS)

Our data proves that proactive risk management leads to better outcomes when tested:

  • Cybersecurity Advising: Policyholders who engage with the CRS Advising team after an initial claim experience 50.6% lower claim severity if a subsequent claim occurs, compared to policyholders who do not engage with CRS.
  • Cybersecurity Awareness Training: Human error remains a key entry point for phishing and social engineering. Policyholders whose employees complete more than 75% of assigned cybersecurity training can reduce their claim rate by up to 66%.
  • Micro Penetration Testing (MPT): For Prime 250 accounts that completed an MPT, ransomware claim severity dropped by 41.0%. Furthermore, Prime 100 accounts completing an MPT have reported zero ransomware claims post-test.
  • Spotlight Vulnerability Scanning: Since the beginning of this year alone, our threat intelligence team researched over 41,100 threats and created over 220 targeted Spotlights to alert policyholders to critical exposures. These Spotlights not only warn policyholders of immediate, one-off attacks, but also shed light on ongoing cyberattack campaigns, saving policyholders the time, money, and effort it takes to identify and solve for the exposures, keeping their businesses secure.
  • Risk & Dark Web Reports: We help policyholders remove exposed Personally Identifiable Information (PII), resolve public-facing CVEs, and fix misconfigurations before threat actors exploit them.
Powered by AI: From Cowbell Factors to Affirmative Coverage

Proactive protection requires precise risk intelligence. Cowbell’s architecture connects real-time data with real-world policy terms:

  • Affirmative AI Coverage: As artificial intelligence reshapes operational tech stacks, Cowbell now offers modernized policy language in its newest cyber insurance product, Prime One, that explicitly addresses AI-driven incidents, removing “silent AI” ambiguity.
  • AI Cowbell Factors: Our continuous risk-rating engine continuously monitors internal and external vectors, translating complex telemetry into clear, actionable scores.
  • OMNI: Cowbell’s AI-native Decision Intelligence platform grounds underwriting and risk management decisions in live business data, maintaining full governance and transparency across the policy lifecycle.
Looking Ahead: October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month

Throughout this Cybersecurity Awareness Month, we have partnered with our training partner, Wizer, to bring a toolkit to policyholders that can help build true resilience.

Our goal is to turn complex digital risks into clear choices, giving you the quiet assurance that your business is protected every step of the way.
