A cybersecurity trailblazer with a proven track record in threat intelligence and cyber risk management, Matthieu now leads Cowbell Resiliency Services (CRS), our new initiative launched to help U.S. and U.K. businesses strengthen their cyber defenses in response to the growing scale and complexity of AI-driven threats.
Matthieu brings a cross-sector perspective shaped by national security, global insurance, and insurtech. Before joining Cowbell, he held senior roles at AIG, in the U.S. intelligence community, and in academia. He has contributed to government and academic publications on cybersecurity and military topics, holds a Ph.D. from Purdue University, and has worked across 11 countries, giving him a truly global view of today’s threat landscape. He is a frequent speaker on cyber risk management, resilience planning, threat intelligence, and the intersection of cybersecurity and geopolitics.
Under Matthieu’s leadership, CRS brings together Cowbell’s subscription-based cybersecurity offerings, powered by trusted partners like SpearTip, GMI, and Wizer, and Cowbell’s former Cybersecurity Resources team. The goal? Equip policyholders with enterprise-grade cyber protection, without the enterprise price tag.
Matthieu will continue to lead Cowbell’s Cybersecurity Services team, a dedicated group of experts who work directly with policyholders to improve their cybersecurity posture. This team delivers hands-on support through initiatives such as free micro penetration testing, individual risk reports, incident response planning, educational webinars, and more. Their mission remains clear: to empower businesses with practical, actionable insights that reduce risk and build resilience.
CRS is a key component of Cowbell’s broader risk management framework and includes:
