We’re excited to welcome Joe Hoosech to Cowbell as our new Principal of Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR). Joe brings a one-of-a-kind mix of military leadership, cybersecurity know-how, and calm-under-pressure decision-making, exactly what you want when the unexpected happens.
A Career Built on Service and Leadership
Joe’s professional journey started with more than 20 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he rose to the rank of Master Sergeant (E-8) and served with distinction during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Along the way, he completed some of the Marine Corps’ most rigorous leadership programs and became a go-to expert in strategy, systems integration, and fire support.
After retiring from the military, Joe spent nearly 13 more years supporting service members as a DoD contractor, leading software testing and training programs. Then came his transition into cybersecurity, where he’s since built and led Security Operations Center (SOC) teams, Advisory Services, and DFIR capabilities, helping businesses stay resilient in the face of cyber threats.
Bringing Calm, Clarity, and Expertise to Incident Response
At Cowbell, Joe is stepping in to strengthen the level of support we provide to policyholders dealing with incidents like ransomware attacks and business email compromise (BEC). He’ll be working closely with our cybersecurity and claims teams to streamline our DFIR process and make sure every case is handled quickly, efficiently, and with care.
“Joe brings a wealth of cybersecurity and ransomware negotiation experience to Cowbell,” said Matthieu Chan Tsin, SVP & Head of Cybersecurity Services, CRS. “His deep expertise enhances our ability to quickly identify and deploy the most appropriate incident response teams, tailored to the unique nature of each claim.”
A Passion for Cybersecurity and Learning
Joe holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in cybersecurity from Lindenwood University. He’s a lifelong learner who’s passionate about staying ahead of cyber trends and finding new ways to protect organizations.
His leadership style is grounded, mission-driven, and focused on outcomes, which aligns perfectly with our vision for Cowbell Resiliency Services and how we support policyholders navigating a cyber incident and claim.
Welcome to the Herd
Joe’s arrival couldn’t come at a better time as we continue to grow the ways we support our policyholders—before, during, and after a cyber event. We’re lucky to have him on board.
Welcome to Cowbell, Joe!
